Printing

Fragile Light Photography uses medium format, digital equipment to capture the fine art images presented here. The large sensors available to medium format photographers allow the capture of subtleties in light, shadow and color. The smallest details in the images are retained because of the greater number of megapixels on the sensor. All of this allows for significant enlargement.

The images presented here are greatly reduced in quality to comply with the bandwidth limitations of the website. The final prints will be free of the copyright watermarks and at the maximum resolution available.

Presently two different media are available to reproduce the images. Thoughtful selection of the material for your image will enhance satisfaction with the finished product.

Aluminum

Printing on metal is becoming a very popular choice for a variety of reasons. Images are sharp, with incredible detail. They are often described as having their own internal luminance or glow. The finished product is unframed and lifted off the wall by an inset frame, giving a clean and modern look. Color infused aluminum resists fading and is estimated to last nearly a hundred years.

Paper

Gallery quality, giclée printing produces excellent color matching and detail capture. The archival heavyweight paper used is impervious to color bleeding and yellowing. These fine art paper prints are suitable for matting and framing to match your decor and preferences. Your paper prints will arrive rolled in a tube to reduce the risk of injury while shipping. They will be ready for you to mat and frame at your preferred frame shop.
